Hand-made pillow is a one-of-a-kind piece of functional textile art. The design is from my imagination and features a central heart, surrounded by scrolls. It is highlighted with fleur de lis on either side. There are velvet rosettes in the center and in the fleur de lis.The colors are pink, coral, raspberry, spring green, forest green lavener and white.

Meticulously hooked by me, it is made of a variety of primarily recycled and upcycled materials including wool fabric, wool yarn, and velvet on a linen substrate. An upcycled ribbon is used for the hanging loop. The pillow is backed with wool fabric and stuffed with new fiberfill.

  • Dimensions: W 9" x H 6"
  • Media: Wool strips, wool yarn, silk, velvet, and recycled fibers. Hooked on linen.
  • Purpose: Can be used as a pillow for your head or lower back; as a decorative item to hang on a doorknob, or to set on a bookshelf or mantle. 
  • Can we wiped off with gentle soap. (Can be submerged and washed gently if necessary.)

As a small child, I started taking art classes at Joslyn Museum in Omaha. Every Saturday morning I was at the museum for a class. As a five-year-old, I won my first art contest and distinctly remember the drawing I had created being used on the cover of the spring catalog for Joslyn Museum. My childlike enthusiasm for art and happiness creating art is in my DNA now. It’s part of every piece of art I create.
